Bare Foam Pigs

Bare Foam Pigs

Bare foam pigs are generally used for drying and sweeping loose debris, gauging internal pipe conditions prior to extensive pigging, sealing behind a stuck pig, batching operations, and product removal. Foam Pigs are available in Light (1-2 lbs. cubic foot), Medium (5-7 lbs. cubic foot), and Heavy (8-10 lbs. cubic foot) densities. Foam Pigs are constructed from open-cell polyurethane foam with a polyurethane elastomer coating on the base. These are commonly used during pipeline construction during the drying phase, to dry out operational lines to meet dew point requirements, and often in municipal service (water and sewer lines). Generally, foam swabs are relatively low-cost items with a cylindrical shape. Foam Swabs are coated with polyurethane at the back to improve propulsion down the pipeline. Foam Swabs have much lower wear resistance than our other foam and polyurethane products, so they are sometimes only good for one use.
